I just read a blog/rant, where one individual that participates in the online world, was ranting about other artists that participate in that same online world. What i understood from his rant, is that he was troubled by the fact that some artists (that he doesn’t think are worthy) may receive some attention to their art, that in his view, wasn’t deserved. Now this dude doesn’t know me personally (although we have met), I do like his work, but i don’t know him personally. You more observant folks might recognize my backyard in some of his images. As happenstance would have, there were a couple models staying with me, that he was collaborating with.. I live in the south (“Bumfuck” if you will), I shoot film (i’m cool) and digital, I used to participate on MM, I photograph strippers, cam girls and porn performers, along with fashion, glamour and commercial models (ill shoot with whoever wants to shoot with me). The description of the types of images he described could describe a good portion of my complete body of work and i do get some pretty good attention in the online world…
Now i don’t think for one second, that his rant was directed at me, but it was directed at artists like me. (The shoe fit)What i know for sure: Art is truly subjective.
What i have learned through the years: Some artists will progress faster then yourself, some slower. Creativity knows no age or gender. it is not bound to experience or skill. Measuring yourself against what other artists are doing or receiving, would be a lesson in frustration.I can’t imagine being that concerned with what anyone else is doing, especially if it doesn’t affect me and my art one bit.
Ranting about the attention an amateur might receive, on an amateur networking site, only serves to make one look……
amateurish..

stringerotic asked: Your work is brilliant and inspiring...

My primary objective when i create images, is to satisfy my creative soul…If my work however gets noticed and appreciated by others, that means a great deal to me…Cheers ~

Anonymous asked: Do you have many shots of the model in your facebook profile photo? She's absolutely stunning!

Not sure if you mean Patchi (avatar) or Ginny (banner), but i have many images of both young women..and they are both beautiful..
